Privacy Policy

Last updated September 8, 2026. Tiny House Village (“THV,” “we”) operates the village mobile app (bundle ID com.fe260d8876da.app) and the website at https://thv-api.onrender.com.

Who this is for

The app is for adult village residents and staff. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.

Information we collect

• Account: name, email, password (hashed), optional Google or Apple sign-in identifiers, profile photo.
• Village activity: Village Bucks transactions, bulletin posts, staff messages, and program-fee invoices.
• Device tokens for push notifications (Firebase Cloud Messaging), including whether the device is iOS or Android.
• Payment records: invoice amounts, status, cash/check notes entered by staff, and Stripe payment identifiers. We do not store full card numbers. Stripe processes cards on Stripe’s servers.

How we use it

To run village programs, let residents and staff communicate, send relevant push notifications, collect program fees, and keep a bookkeeping record for staff.

Sharing

We share data with processors who help us operate the service: hosting (Render), email (when configured), Firebase for push, Google or Apple for sign-in, and Stripe for card payments. We do not sell personal information.

Notifications and photos

The app may ask for notification permission to deliver invoice and village alerts. Profile and bulletin photos are uploaded only when you choose them. We do not use the advertising identifier or track you across other companies’ apps.

Payments

Program fees are real-world village services. Card checkout happens on Stripe’s hosted page, not as an Apple or Google in-app purchase. Staff can also record cash, check, or other payments.

Retention and deletion

You can delete your resident account in the app Settings, on the web at https://thv-api.onrender.com/account/delete, or by emailing hello@tinyhousevillage.org. We anonymize your login, remove photos and device tokens, and revoke Sign in with Apple tokens when those credentials are configured. Invoice totals may be kept for village bookkeeping.

Your choices

Signed-in residents can export a copy of their account data from Settings → Download my data, or by asking staff. You can decline push notifications in system settings.
